What’s Under the Hood
Let’s get into the details, but keep it real. This tube runs on 400V, which is a big deal. That higher voltage means you can pack more wattage into the same size tube. And because you’re using higher voltage, you draw less current for the same power. That makes a huge difference when you’re running longer wires—you get less voltage drop and you can get away with smaller wiring. The twin carbon filaments aren’t just there to look cool. They spread out the heat, giving you a bigger radiating area. That helps smooth out the heat pattern and prevents those annoying hot spots. We’re talking serious power here. Most setups run between 2500W and 3000W over just 300mm of active length. That’s a lot of heat in a tight space. But here’s the catch: that kind of power density means everything around the tube has to be ready for the heat. So when you plan your mounting, reflectors, and airflow, you need to plan like you mean it.
The Materials and the Design
We chose quartz for the tube itself because it can handle rapid temperature changes without cracking, and it’s great at letting infrared heat pass right through. Inside, the halogen cycle is doing the heavy lifting. It catches material that evaporates off the filament and puts it back where it belongs. That keeps the filament stable and helps the tube last longer, even when it’s running hot. We also tuned the inner coating to boost infrared output, shifting more energy into the wavelengths that work best with industrial materials. And the connector? It’s the R7s, a double-ended, straight-pin design. That means it drops right into standard fixtures. The pins handle the current and keep everything lined up perfectly, so you get a clean install with solid contact every time.

This tube is for the moments when you need heat, right where you need it, and you need it now. Think plastic forming, curing, drying, preheating—any job that needs a quick, focused blast of heat. The ramp-up is so fast, you can really tighten up your cycle times. And because it’s only 300mm long, it fits into tight spots that other heaters can’t touch. That high power density is the whole point, but it comes with a trade-off. You have to design proper cooling and thermal isolation around the lamp.
