
Let’s talk about our 550mm Carbon Fiber Heaters
If you need heat—and you need it now—this is the tool for the job. We built this 550mm lamp for those moments where waiting for a machine to warm up just isn’t an option. It runs on 220V and pulls 1500W. That’s a lot of punch packed into a relatively small space. The power side of things Since it uses a standard 220V setup, you can usually plug it straight into your industrial grid. No need to mess around with bulky transformers that just get in the way. One quick tip: keep an eye on your reflector housing. You’ll want it lined up perfectly with the 550mm length. If it’s off, you’re just wasting heat at the edges, and nobody likes wasting energy. Why carbon fiber? Most people are used to those old metal alloy coils. They work, sure, but they’re slow. We went with carbon fiber filaments instead. They snap to temperature almost instantly and throw off a much wider range of infrared heat. We wrap everything in clear quartz, which basically acts like a window, letting the heat fly straight through to your workpiece without getting trapped. Plus, carbon fiber is tougher when things get hot and cold quickly. It doesn’t warp or fatigue like nichrome wire does, so you won’t be replacing these lamps every time you flip the power switch. Getting it installed These are great for sliding into your existing drying tunnels or PET blowing machines. They just fit. But here’s the thing: 1500W in a 550mm frame creates some serious heat. If you’re tucking this into a tight box, make sure your fans can actually keep up. If the ends of the lamp get too hot, the seals will give out way sooner than they should. And one last bit of advice? Check your voltage. If your power line has a habit of spiking, it can snap a carbon filament in a heartbeat. Keep the power steady, and these things will last you a long time.
