
Let’s talk about the 660mm Carbon Fiber Infrared Lamp
If you’re dealing with heavy thermal loads and you can’t afford to sit around waiting for your equipment to warm up, this lamp is for you. Most people are used to those old-school metal alloy filaments. But we do things a bit differently. We use a specialized conductive carbon fiber weave. The result? It hits your target temperature way faster. Plus, the heat stays consistent across the entire 660mm length, so you don’t get those annoying cold spots. The power side of things The 660mm size is pretty much the gold standard for mid-to-large industrial ovens. But here’s the thing: you’ve got to be smart about your power supply. Because these carbon filaments are designed for intense shortwave radiation, they don’t just heat the air—they push that heat deep into the material itself. It’s powerful stuff. Just make sure your wiring and controllers can actually handle the current draw. If you cut corners there, you’re looking at burnt-out contact points, and nobody wants to deal with that. Built to take a beating We wrap the carbon fiber core in high-purity quartz. We do this so the infrared spectrum can just slide right through without getting trapped. As for the terminals, we kept them standard. They’re designed to be a simple drop-in replacement for the arrays you probably already have. One more thing: carbon fiber is way tougher than tungsten when it comes to vibration. If your shop is loud and shaky, these lamps can take the hit without the filament snapping. It’s just more reliable. Where it works (and a quick warning) You’ll mostly see these in PET blowing and plastic curing. They’re great because they get the plastic to that perfect softening point without turning the rest of your machinery into an oven. But, a word of advice: keep an eye on your reflector plates. Since these lamps throw off so much heat, your reflectors take a lot of abuse. If they get pitted or oxidized, you’re wasting a huge chunk of your energy. That forces the lamps to run hotter just to keep up, which kills their lifespan. Keep those reflectors clean, and your lamps will last a lot longer.
